East Sweeps Crosstown Rival North With A Dominating Defensive Performance

The East Broncos rode into their first game of the season against their crosstown rivals North Cougars. A team set the tone by flying around the field making punishing tackles on defense all night long, led by the Beasts from the East Sione Siala and Liam Montgomery in the trenches. East never trailed the entire game after Carson Hodge scored the first of his two rushing TD’s before the end of the first half. East further extended their lead on a Brody Mitchell QB sneak touchdown set up by a beautiful catch by Landon Nichols for a big gain. Led by player of the game Sione Siala, the Broncos improved to 1-0 on the season with a 22-0 win over the Cougars.

The B team came out firing in their game as well. Brady Stoneman kicked off the scoring with a 75 yard rushing TD giving the Broncos the lead 6-0. The defense was stifling all night as North struggled to gain first downs. Player of the game Brady Stoneman added a second rushing TD and Oliver Elmer had a 20 yard TD on a beautiful pass from James Edwards to give the Broncos a 22-0 win improving to 1-0 on the season.
